Truck stage

Motion City Soundtrack

Aftershow with at least the Katy Perry band and 3o3 Free stuff almost makes dealing with hipsters all day worth something

Also got Automatic LoveLetter's autographs as well as pro skater Steve Caballero. He gave me that vans wallet! :] should have gotten a picture with him.. Senses Fail was not there, but I did catch part of Gym Class Heroes and Motion City Soundtrack.. snippets of other bands here and there. I was off work by 5 too so lots of free time for free stuff!

Hellllloooooo Everybody! Rock the Bells sound check

5 dollar heart sunglasses from warped tour. I obviously need to work on my gangster face. The Pack (vans song)
De La Soul! I need optical zooooom rather than digital zoom :T

Can't keep running away

Peopsle
Nas looking like Kanye
Spank Rock with Amanda. Confettis!
Mos Def is the besss t
Q tip with Mos Def "vibrant thing"

A Tribe Called Quest!!! the headliner

I only worked 2 hours so I had plenty of time to listen to all my favs at Rock the Bells. De la Soul played "Me, Myself and I"! :] I wanted them to do "Word Play" too but they didn't. Mos Def was the most versatile. He did a little reggae and soul, even "Redefinition" from Blackstar (my favvvv). Meth and Red did a good job of pumping up the crowd but they did it by glorifying weed. LameO. Nas sucks live. sounds like he's yelling at the mic and can't even hear what he's rapping. A Tribe called Quest performed "Find A Way" which I was really excited about. :] It didn't sound very clean though. :/ However, their segway from that song into "Bonita Applebum" was amazing!

So many annoyances killing the mood these two days. like people not knowing what they're talking about or the first thing about the performers at either event but going just to be cool? greedy grubby little hands taking everything they can even though they don't know what it means or who it is. Please. Get the fuck out.

Gooogle party tomorrow. Free food! Free alcohol! even a candy bar. a bar for candy... wow!

warped rock

Two more events for job2 this week: Warped Tour and Rock the Bells

!!! Can you mother fucking believe it! I really want to see Tribe, De la, and Mos Def the mostestest. Murs, Immortal Technique, Nas, Africa Bambaataa... !!!! !!!!!! !!! I neeed to get off at 5. wish we could have backstage access for this one! Maybe during sound check??
Here's the line up I took from thearabparrot blog:

A-MAZering!

I've been to warped tour once. I love Senses Fail but as far as I'm concerned, they are slipping. That last cd was such a disappointment. sucksobad. Gym Class Heroes will be there.. and I'm not sure who else.

Maybe it's more whatsever because I've been there done that. did the mosh pit, pinched some jerk for falling on me, pushed some fuckface walking through the crowd that bumped into me. oh. and threatened to stab this girl in the fucking face for pushing me constantly on purpose. She was twice my height but my comment made her back the fuck off. ... ... . ....... ... I'm so scary.

Yes! Friday and Saturday at Shoreline! Can Not Wait!!

thursday friday and projekt revolution

I've been wanting to post my outfit of the day but by the end of the day I'm too tired to do it! Technically, this is what I wore Friday but better late than never!

I wanted a purple shirt to bring out the color in my glasses (even though my camera can't)There's a vertical stripe detail on the shirt too. I liked it better with my pointy toe red flats than black, and had a matching necklace, so there it is!

Friday wasn't too eventful though. just work and hue, a Korean lounge/ restaurant with thee girls for our fav fried chicken wings! Sushie and Joan ran into Yulius, a technologist that works for a company bought out by mtv, and he picked up our tab. :] Wait. That was Thursday. oopsie

Friday I worked job1 and went with Sushie to rumors, another Korean restaurant. We ordered mostly the same stuff but Hue's wings are tastier!

A place we saw on the way:
I drove home and tried editing my picture in photobucket. It made my laptop lag like a mother and ended up leaving half of my arm out. blehh

By fourAM I realized I was supposed to be awake in a couple hours for job2! I was tossing and turning and woke up a zombie I hated it. Amy came to get me and we met up with Joan and Bao at Shoreline. Seriously, the easiest gig ever. hanging out all day in a booth with my friends, occasionally helping a customer, eating, and getting into events for free! This is Projekt Revolution:

Shoreline main stage

Tomoko and Joan

just the lawn area. There's even more people in the seats area

The Bravery was performing

Part of the crowd. I think during Chris Cornell

Linkin Park

such good lighting effectsChris Cornell and Chester in a little duet (on the screen)

We set up around 10 in the morning. I worked until 5pm when Sushie showed up after managing h&m. I watched part of Ashes Divided and some other band, The Bravery, Chris Cornell, and Linkin Park. Busta Rhymes was a no show! rats! I wanted to see that. Joan, Katy, Mike our bodyguard, Tomoko and I caught the Linkin Park performance. Linkin Park is really good live. I hadn't realized how many of their songs I actually know. Mike is so cool I have a little celeb crush now! He plays the guitar, keyboard, raps and sings and smiles the whole time doing it. :]

When we came back to our booth, they were almost finished packing up and some drunkards tried giving Amy trouble by sitting out one of our folding tables. Amy so nice they weren't listening to her. Sushie walks over and says, "Actually we have to fold this now" and flips the table over. They kept acting dumb so I'm standing in the booth watching and felt it was about time to show them whose boss! As I'm walking over, Katy the 5'10 wonder started screaming at them. They still went on acting dumb talking about her direct approach but security was nearby, so they left.

Where was bodyguard Mike when we needed him!! So we were right! Sushie and Katy are the emotional ones that will scream their heads off at you. Bao and I are the calm enforcers that will kill you and kick you afterward. Amy is the nice one we need to buy a scarf and mask for her pretty face so the boys will back off! and Joan is the conservative one who will say, "You know what you did" to the corpse and pray for their soul. and that's that.

The weekend is so short! Work in the morning and another week begins.

do you think of me now and then

I'm home in the states. sucky sucky states!

Japan was the besterest country I have been to! I seriously considered moving there, to a life with clean bathrooms, fancy toilets, polite people, and a scooter I can ride in a dress with a hook for my bag under the steering wheel. :]

They don't even have to lock their bicycles in some areas! People don't even work for tips but they're super courteous. aaand Japan doesn't have a lot of natural resources so they conserve! (My friends are always teasing me for recycling so much.) Everything is of such a higher standard and quality. I love it.

Things I miss most about Japan (in no particular order):
Upscale hotel rooms! A new one every night
Clean restrooms.. even public ones!
Taka-son and the refuge of his air-conditioned bus
Scooters and bicycles
Clean city streets despite scarce trash cans
Environmental conservation
Yukatas and comfy jammies!
Sega arcades and how they actually help you win
Good service
Good food everyday. (even Japanese McDonald's is better!)
Breakfast buffets every morning. (and regular meals)
Cool stuff found only in Japan, such as my eyeball friend! (I should have bought the shirt) :P

Things I don't miss:
The stick to yourself humidity
Stuck up reggae? wannabes with nasally voices
Bugs making my leg their bitch in the bamboo forest

I'll probably take a while to upload pictures and Christine already did! Her pictures came out really nice and she even labeled them with details! Kudos! :]

Peekcha Japan Takealooksie!

workplay

After saying I don't go out... I went out. Sushie and I went to get some more inventory and Ky was kind of touchy towards the Kaba Modern at Motif rumor. So we decided to go surprise him at Vivid! Turns out Kaba really was at Motif! oohh well. We had fun anyhow. It was really empty but Amy's Randy was there and so was Jeannie's boyfriend and Sushie's high school friends. yeah. Anyway can't go wrong with two dollar drinks!

Friday we went to an h&m party. Good lord underage hipsters galore. gahh I didn't drink there. twoAM in n out then home.

I worked the BFD (Big Fucking Deal) show. Work meaning standing around most of the time, eating nachos and watching Santogold and Cypress Hill! I would have liked to see others but it's all good at least we got in freebees. Joan likes reggae too and so does her friend Fiona and so does my friend Kimberly. I thinks we need to go to a reggae showww fo sure

cast off you go

For your listening pleasure, Josiah Leming:

Performance only:

snap snap

Maybe by the looks of it I go to clubs a lot. I don't. It's only in support of DJ Ky! club, jump up and down to "damaged", get down with my bad self to vanilla ice and MC Hammer, end early with tacos!

Last Thursday: 2 dollar drinks before 11pm! That means I can get my adios for only 2 bucks! and malibu pineapple cranberriesss. Girly, but the combination helps me get happy without getting sick to my stomach puking. Import model Francine Dee was there. She's not the sexiest, but she's pretty nice. My coworker/former twin Jeannie and my cousin Steven were there, and one of his cousins I met for the first time who apparently works at h&m with Joan. I don't think he couldn't hear my introduction because he looked at me like who-are-you-and-what-are-you-saying-weird-girl ???

Saturday: No Michelle, no camera, no pictures! New friend Fiona is neat and tacos are good and we ran into my cousin's middle school buddy I had a crush on when I was 10. We left before I could hear Teddy Rockspin though. Too bad because Sushie has his mix and I like it.

oh yeah! H&M staffers were at Motif with the expansion team from NY. We stopped to say hello and this girl from the bronx in charge of expansion was outside crying. Voodoo security is full of assholes! One of them was just complimenting my ring but then I see her crying due to his coworkers! They had accused her of being drunk because she was sitting down outside. Come on, 4 inch heels after a 14 hour day... give her a break! Then they had started making fun of and taunting her. That's not doing your job, that's just being a jerk. Damn them for giving us a bad name. >:P

She was a sweetheart. I was about to go back and yell at them for being dicks. hahah what can I say. I like New York.

I didn't see her there but that's my coworker Jeannie to the left. We don't look alike at all (esp. not in this picture)! haha but we used to get a lot of customers doing double takes on the daily and asking "how did you change so fast?" and "are you twins?". Insane.
